the first week of the final chapter
i am almost done with my first week of my last semester. there, i said it, my last semester. it's a mash of emotions just sitting there in a mortar and i'm not quite sure what recipe to add it to, so there it remains. i'm sure everything will start to come together and my dangling spoon on a string will point me in the right direction.
the museum shows have opened this week and hopefully i will get the chance to help ayomi's crew install some blossoms soon.
here's some more furniture purchases...i have three of the chairs. they do not have any stamps or tags on them, so if anyone has leads of a maker, drop me a line.

i finally found a picture of the credenza i got last summer. the black vertical panels (1/8" plastic) on the left of the piece are slightly recessed from the vertical wood panels and can slide out of their casing. the credenza came with a second set of panels that match the rest of the wood, so i can have wood one day and alternating wood/black another.

here's a new dragor rug (newly placed and not completely flattened out) i found at ikea and boy do i love it! i had been looking at chilewich for the past couple of years and more seriously in the past year. the hardwoods in the winter aren't very appealing to my freezing digits, but i also didn't want a regular rug for the potential stain factor. the thought of parting with $300-$400 for the size i needed (although the integrated rubber backing and easy cleanup make it well worth the price) i can think of plenty of other purchases i'd rather make first. the dragor rug is a synthetic tight weave and can be it can be melted and recycled. for $50, i am more than pleased and it's also reversible.
